An introduction to Japanese Hand Tools for Woodworking

$60Purchase required to enroll
This class is designed to provide students an overview of working with Japanese hand tools and some hands-on practice. No prior purchase of tools or materials will be necessary to take this class. The workshop will cover the proper use and care of Japanese saws, chisels and planes; and sharpening with Japanese water stones.

If students have tools already, they are welcome to bring them.

Participants can use this class as an introduction and can join a second class on Japanese joinery techniques the following week.

Because of Pandemic concerns, this class will be limited to four individuals who are fully vaccinated.

About the instructor: Paul Tuller has been working with Japanese hand woodworking tools for over 35 years to build traditional Japanese interior spaces and custom furniture. He is the co-founder of The Guild of NH Woodworkers and a past juried member of The League of NH Craftsmen.
