With its origins dating back to 1000 BC in Egypt, China and Mesopotamia, the art of making Ceramic Tiles reached intricate levels of craftsmanship across the world, from Persia to the East and Italy to the West. Join us for an overview of Ceramic Tile Making, including the design process, from abstract to realistic relief, embossment or impression, techniques such as slab cut, press molding and traditional plaster cast and modern rubber mold making and production, as well as a discussion and presentation of the wide range of decorating techniques available to this craft.
