Sally Ray has recently moved to the area after decades in the movie industry, creating costuming and special effects for a host of major films from Men in Black to Galaxy Quest, Tron Legacy and many, many more. Sally was Head of Production at the Jim Henson Creature Shop for 8 years amongst other impressive credits.
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of silicone mold making from an object they provide (we'll have some options on hand too), around 2" in diameter. They will learn to to plan, prepare and pour their silicone to create an accurate mold. In the second class students will learn how to take their rough molds through the process of preparing for casting and create their own candle to take home. Sally will also demonstrate resin molding.
