A-I-R Series: Coil/Pinch Techniques

Handbuilders of all skill levels are invited to join Mary Roberts, our first Artist-in-Residence, for a deep dive into the coil/pinch method, as well as use of colored slips, underglazes, and more. Students will explore the functional and sculptural values of 3-dimensional form using coil/pinch, as well as development of surface treatment and design. This is a great place to start for anyone interested in handbuilding, and it’s a next step for returning students who enjoyed Mary’s fall and winter programs. Don’t miss out!

Included with the tuition:

• 25 lbs of Laguna #66 white stoneware clay

• Glazes, washes, and colored slips

• Bisque and glaze firings

• Use of community tools

• Six hours of flexible practice time during staff hours and Open Studio sessions, each week that class is in session
